Summer in the Sunshine State is more than just a season—it’s a state of mind. From beach days chasing waves to kayak outings, Jacksonville and its surrounding suburbs are brimming with family fun all summer long. Just to the north, families at Tributary are diving into the action and making the most of a jam-packed local calendar. Let’s take a closer look at the local events that are turning up the fun.
One of Northeast Florida’s favorite summer traditions is back! The 45th Annual Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament at Jim King Park on the ICW features 600+ boats, huge prizes, a junior angler event, and a food fest. It’s one of the Southeast’s biggest kingfish tournaments, but the fun goes way beyond the weigh-ins.
Local artists bring out the best in everything from woodwork and pottery to paintings and jewelry at the Jax Beach Arts Market. Hosted at Seawalk Pavillion from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., it’s family-friendly, pet-friendly, and the perfect place to snag something one-of-a-kind for your home. Or simply enjoy a breezy beachside stroll with a side of inspiration.
What’s better than a summer run? One that ends with all-you-can-eat ice cream. The Kilwins Ice Cream Run at Beachwalk features a 5K and one-mile run/walk, plus sweet rewards at the finish line. Even better, proceeds support the Dream Big! Foundation, helping families facing financial challenges due to cancer.
On the first Friday of each month from April through October, Centre Street in downtown Fernandina Beach comes alive with free live music. From 6–8 PM, enjoy a mix of classic rock, blues, oldies—and yes, even a few friendly pirates ready for photos and laughs. The August 1 show is set to feature a high-energy set from local favorites Str8-up.
Northeast Florida’s homegrown talent takes the spotlight at the LOL JAX Film Festival. This two-night event at Downtown Jacksonville’s WJCT Studios is a highlight reel of locally made comedy shorts, stand-up sets, and live music. Now in its ninth year, the festival champions creativity and laugh-out-loud moments with a dose of local flair.
Tributary residents will be saying goodbye to summer in style. This tropical-themed afternoon promises poolside fun with live music, festive treats, arts and crafts, and plenty of ways to soak up the community spirit—Hawaiian shirts encouraged. It’s just one of the many resident events put on by the community’s lifestyle team.
Situated in a scenic natural setting in Yulee, the fun for Tributary families doesn’t end when the events do. The Lookout Amenity Center builds it into everyday life, with everything from a resort-style pool and pickleball courts to a top-tier fitness center and playground. Even pups get their own slice of paradise at the Pawsome Dog Park, complete with separate play zones and a custom obstacle course. Around here, “Livin’ on Tributary Time” means making the most of every sun-soaked moment.
Tributary features a diverse range of single-family homes, starting from the $400s, designed for all ages. Homes are crafted by top national builders, including David Weekley Homes and Lennar. Model homes are open daily for tours, offering a closer look at the community.
